70 white rhinos on their way to Rwanda !

@WWF

The Akagera National Park in Rwanda will soon welcome 70 white rhinos from South Africa. These huge animals are making a long journey to find a safer home.

Get ready for a big trip — for some very big animals! Seventy white rhinos are heading to Akagera National Park in Rwanda, all the way from South Africa. These giant plant-eaters can weigh up to 2 tons and will travel over 3400 kilometers to reach their new home.

But why are they moving? White rhinos are in danger because of poaching — when people illegally hunt them for their horns. There are only about 17,000 left in the world! By bringing them to Rwanda, scientists hope to help protect them.

This isn’t the first time rhinos have arrived at Akagera. Thirty were already brought here in 2021. This new move is part of a big mission to save nature. As one park official said, “This is a key step to protect rhinos and the environment.”

Good luck to the rhino travelers!
