A radio that saves lives in Zimbabwe
Chimanimani FM helps people get ready for climate change…
Since 2022, Chimanimani FM has been helping villagers in Zimbabwe stay safe. After the terrible cyclone Idai, this local radio—supported by UNESCO—started sharing weather tips and climate news in local languages, day and night!
With 30 volunteers, many of them survivors, the radio now reaches over 150,000 people. Kids are starting nature clubs, and farmers are planting drought-resistant crops!
“Thanks to the radio, we understand what to do when the weather changes,” says Agnes, a farmer. Chimanimani FM is not just a radio—it’s a friend and a helper.
