Millions of years ago, some rivers and lakes around the world were home to enormous crocodiles, much bigger than the ones we know today! Some measured over 12 meters long, almost as long as a school bus.
These giant predators lived both in water and on land, hunting animals like dinosaurs or huge fish. Scientists are still discovering their fossils today and learning how they lived, what they ate, and why they disappeared.
For children, it’s fascinating: these crocodiles show us that the world has changed a lot since the time of the dinosaurs and that animals could be gigantic !
