A new Dinosaur discovery in Zimbabwe

Researchers have announced the discovery of a new dinosaur species in Zimbabwe, near Lake Kariba. This exciting discovery sheds light on creatures that lived millions of years ago.

A team of researchers recently made an incredible discovery in Zimbabwe: a new type of dinosaur. These scientists found bones near Lake Kariba, near the border with Zambia. These bones date back approximately 210 million years, to the late Triassic period.

What makes this discovery so special is that the bones exhibit unique characteristics that distinguish them from other known dinosaur species of that era. This species has been identified as an early member of the sauropodomorph group, known for their long necks and herbivorous diet. They named it Musankwa sanyatiensis.

This discovery marks the fourth of its kind in Zimbabwe, highlighting the region’s rich potential for paleontological research. The researchers have published their findings in the journal Acta Palaeontologica Polonica, thus sharing their knowledge with the world.

This new discovery reminds us of how different the Earth was millions of years ago and demonstrates how scientific research can help us better understand our history and that of the creatures that lived before us.
