A sport car built by Rwandan students

Students from Kigali Polytechnic College (RP Kigali College) have achieved an incredible feat: building a sports car with the support of the International Automobile Federation (FIA). Presented during the FIA General Assembly, held for the first time in Africa, this car is a source of pride for the entire continent!

Built in just three weeks, this single-seater sports car was unveiled to President Paul Kagame and Mohammed Ben Sulayem, the FIA President. The students received assistance from a Spanish technician and rare car parts provided by the FIA, showcasing a collaboration between local talent and international expertise.

“Africa is brimming with extraordinary talent, but it often lacks opportunities,” President Kagame remarked, highlighting the importance of such projects in developing the skills of young Africans.

With this achievement, Rwanda demonstrates its readiness to play a significant role in the world of motorsport and, perhaps one day, host a Formula 1 Grand Prix!
