Eight African countries are at the 2026 Winter Olympics with 13 athletes. A historic first !
For the first time, eight African nations are competing at the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina: South Africa, Benin, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Eritrea, Nigeria, Morocco, and Madagascar. Athletes will race in skiing, skeleton, and freestyle skiing. Despite little snow and few winter sports facilities, they show that Africa can shine on ice and snow, proving that its athletes are ready to take on any challenge.
