African cheetahs are returning to the Indian plains thanks to a big project to protect nature and biodiversity. Eight strong cheetahs from Botswana have joined those already from Namibia and South Africa in Kuno National Park, Madhya Pradesh.
Launched in 2022, this program aims to bring back a species that disappeared from India in 1952 and help protect nature. Cheetahs help control deer and other animals, keeping plants and vegetation safe. Some cheetahs were even born in India, showing the project is working! With their incredible speed, up to 100 km/h, these cats are the new heroes of the Indian savannah.
