African Young Leaders : Heroes for a Better Future

In 2025, five young people from Africa were chosen as “Young Leaders for the SDGs” by the UN — which means they are helping to build a fairer and more sustainable world for everyone.
Every two years, the UN selects young people from all continents who stand out with ideas to improve the world. This year, five young Africans joined the 2025 group. They come from Nigeria, Rwanda, the DRC, Zimbabwe, and another country — each working to make life better through poetry, sports, mental health, education, or inclusion.
These young leaders show that you are never too small to make a difference. With their energy and ideas, they inspire other children to dream, create, and act for the environment, equality, peace, and education. The UN gives them a strong voice, but each of us can also help in our own way — at school, at home, and with friends.
