BAL : Basketball… and much more!

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) is back in Kigali! But it’s not only about the game. It’s also about jobs, stars, big dreams… and a whole continent moving forward together!

The Nile Conference of the BAL is happening in Kigali until May 25, 2025. Four teams are playing: Al Ahli Tripoli (Libya), MBB (South Africa), Nairobi City Thunder (Kenya), and APR (Rwanda). The goal? A spot in the playoffs in Pretoria!

But BAL is more than just basketball. It’s a celebration of Africa. Young talents like 16-year-old Emmanuel Onoja share the court with giants like David Craig, who is 2.18 meters tall! And NBA stars like Jaylen Adams bring their skills to the game.

Clare Akamanzi, head of NBA Africa, says the BAL is already creating jobs. In just four years, it made 37,000 jobs! And in the next ten years, 650,000 young Africans could benefit.

In Kigali, there are also concerts, events, and lots of fun. BAL shows that sports can help all of Africa grow stronger—together!
