Belgium : ban on exporting toxic fuels to Africa

Belgium bans the export of toxic fuels to West Africa, protecting health and the environment. This important decision impacts countries like Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon.

Belgium has made an important decision to protect our planet: it is banning the export of fuels that contain toxic substances like sulfur and benzene. These fuels cause a lot of pollution and are dangerous to health.

Before this ban, these fuels were often sent to countries in West Africa, such as Ghana, Nigeria, and Cameroon. Factories in Belgium produced these polluting fuels and then sold them to these countries. But now, Belgium is saying « no » to this practice.

Unfortunately, other countries like the United States and the Netherlands continue to sell these toxic fuels to Africa. They do this because their laws are less strict and because there is a high demand for energy in these African countries.

With this ban, Belgium hopes to set an example and encourage other countries to do the same. By stopping the export of these polluting fuels, we help protect the air we breathe and make our world cleaner and healthier for everyone.
