Botswana has done something amazing: it’s the first country in Africa to almost stop HIV from being passed from mothers to babies. The World Health Organization gave it a special award called “Gold Tier.”
Thanks to free healthcare, medicine for all moms, and programs to teach families, almost no babies are born with HIV in Botswana today. This is a big win for a country that once had one of the highest rates of HIV. Doctors, nurses, and local groups worked together for many years to make this happen. It shows that with care and teamwork, we can save lives and build a healthier future!
