Botswana creates a center to protect its wildlife

@FAO

A new center has been launched in Gaborone to help Botswana better protect its wildlife. Thanks to this center, nature laws will be easier to understand and apply for everyone.

On March 11, 2025, Botswana launched a special « legal hub » to help protect its animals and forests. The center was opened in Gaborone with the help of the European Union, FAO, and several associations. The goal? To make nature laws simpler to understand and enforce.

The Minister of the Environment, Mr. Mmolotsi, explained that nature is very important for the country. Animals attract tourists, which helps Botswana’s economy. Therefore, clear rules are needed to protect them.

This new center will gather all the important laws about wildlife and make them accessible to everyone. It will assist schools, villages, policymakers, and environmental advocates. Through this project, Botswana hopes to become a global model for nature protection.
