Ingue Iteka, Super flours for children

A former Burundian refugee, Ingue Iteka, after going through difficult trials, decided to found a factory in Burkina Faso to help children who lack food. Her project aims to produce enriched flours specially designed to nourish the little ones who need it the most.

Once upon a time, there was Ingue Iteka, a brave woman who left her country, Burundi, because of conflicts. After living for years as a refugee in Burkina Faso, she decided to turn her story into a beautiful adventure. For nearly 25 years, she observed the challenges faced by the children of her new homeland, especially those who do not have enough to eat. These children, often displaced due to war or poverty, needed help to stay healthy.

So, she had a brilliant idea: to create a factory to produce enriched flours! These flours are not ordinary. They are specially designed to provide children with the nutrients they need to grow strong and healthy. Indeed, many children suffer from malnutrition, which means they are not getting enough vitamins and minerals in their diets. With these enriched flours, they will be able to eat better and have more energy to play and learn.

The enriched flours are like little « super flours. » They contain not only wheat but also additional ingredients like legumes, vitamins, and minerals. These additions help children feel better, be stronger, and avoid illnesses. When children eat well, they can concentrate better in school and have fun with their friends.

The factory is also a way to provide jobs for people in the community. By hiring locals, it helps support families. The workers at the factory are thrilled to be able to contribute to such a noble cause. Together, they transform local ingredients into delicious and healthy products for children.

This initiative by a former Burundian refugee in Burkina Faso is a shining example of how determination and empathy can change lives. By helping children gain access to nutritious food, she not only creates a positive impact on their health but also builds a hopeful future for an entire community.
