Judita lives in a refugee camp in Kenya. Thanks to her courage, hard work, and a little help, she managed to start two small businesses to support her family. Here is her inspiring story!
Judita Gideon is 40 years old. She lives in the Kalobeyei camp in Kenya, after fleeing war in South Sudan. A mother of several children, including three with disabilities, she had to find ways to feed and care for everyone.
At first, she ran a small restaurant, but she didn’t earn enough. She only served a few customers in the morning and then closed. Everything changed when she joined the InBusiness project run by HI.
There, she learned how to improve her sales, organize her work, and save money. “Now, I cook all day and get more customers,” she says proudly.
Thanks to her efforts and a bit of financial support, she even opened a grocery shop. Today, she is happy and proud to take care of her family through her own businesses.
