Mali Independence Day : the struggle continues!

On September 22, 2024, Mali celebrated its 64th independence anniversary! It’s a special moment for all Malians, as the country has changed a lot since gaining independence. Today, Malians are fighting to take control of their destiny.

Since 2020, Mali has been undergoing a period of transformation. The country is working hard to strengthen its army and make important decisions. The Malian army has become stronger and proudly defends the territory. It has even regained important cities like Kidal, which had been outside the state’s control.

But it’s not just about security. Mali is also looking to forge new international friendships. Instead of relying on its former partners, the country is turning to nations like Russia and China. This allows Mali to choose its allies and protect its interests.

In 2024, Mali also formed a group with its neighbors, Burkina Faso and Niger, to better support each other. This bloc, called the Confederation of Sahel States, shows that these countries want to unite their efforts to face challenges together.

By celebrating this 64th anniversary, Mali demonstrates its readiness to move toward a future where it will be truly free and sovereign. It’s a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the journey so far and the challenges ahead. Happy Birthday, Mali! 🎉
