Great news for the children of Nigeria! The GAVI organization, which helps countries vaccinate their populations, will provide $191 million over four years to Nigeria. This amount will be used to treat more children and improve healthcare centers.
The goal is to vaccinate 1.8 million children who have never received any vaccines. By 2028, the country aims to protect 84% of children from diseases like measles and rubella.
Another $100 million campaign is also planned to vaccinate over 100 million children against these two diseases in 2025. It will be one of the largest operations ever launched in Nigeria!
Since 2000, GAVI has already helped significantly: nearly 500 healthcare centers have been renovated, and thousands of healthcare workers have been recruited. The aim? To ensure that all children, even those in the most remote areas, can receive care.
