Over 6.5 million children vaccinated against Polio in Kenya and Uganda

@WHO

By working as a team, the two countries showed that they could better protect children from this disease.

Polio is an illness that can make children very sick and even stop them from walking. But the good news is, it can be prevented with a vaccine!

To make sure all children living near the border between Kenya and Uganda are protected, health teams organized a joint vaccination campaign. This helped reach even more families!

Dr. Daniel Kyabayinze from Uganda’s Ministry of Health said, « Protect your children from polio by getting them vaccinated! »

With this campaign, Kenya and Uganda show that when we work together, we can better safeguard children’s health.

Polio doesn’t stop at borders, and neither does the fight to eliminate it!
