Children in Rwanda reviving nature.
At Kayovu Primary School, enthusiastic children planted trees with the help of Claudine Kamanzi, founder of the Forest4Life organization. Each student received a young tree, which they named as a small commitment to the environment. One of them called their tree « Rumuli, » meaning « light » in Kinyarwanda, the language of Rwanda.
This action is part of Claudine’s mission to raise awareness among young generations about the importance of reforestation and nature conservation. Through projects like this, students learn to take care of their planet from a young age.
In the drylands of Rwanda, where soils are threatened by erosion and deforestation, planting trees is essential. By planting trees like mangoes, children not only help their environment but also see the fruits of their labor, creating a strong bond with nature.
