On October 1, 2025, Somalia’s parliament, which is the group of people elected to make the country’s laws, voted to apply a charter, a document that explains children’s rights.
Thanks to this vote, Somali children will soon have more protections: the right to go to school, get healthcare, and be safe.
Children’s organizations are happy: “This is a big step so that every child in Somalia can grow up safely and learn in good conditions.”
