At FESPACO, Sur mon sable, a film entirely created by children in Burkina Faso, premiered.
This project, supported by the Ministry of Communication, UNICEF, and director Apolline Traoré, allowed 30 young participants to learn filmmaking and tell a powerful story about drug addiction and resilience.
Ornella, 16, one of the young directors, shares: “Through this film, we learned to express ourselves and share our emotions.” The movie highlights the dangers of bad influences and the importance of family support.
Through this initiative, these young talents prove that cinema is a powerful tool for awareness and giving a voice to youth.
