The first human tools found in Kenya

In Kenya, scientists discovered very old stone tools and a fossil of Homo habilis, one of our early human ancestors. These findings show that humans were making tools much earlier than we thought.

In northern Kenya, researchers uncovered the fossil KNM-ER 64061, belonging to Homo habilis. Alongside it, they found stone tools used for cutting, scraping, and breaking things.

These tools are 600,000 years older than previously believed, showing that our ancestors were already clever and knew how to make what they needed to survive.

This discovery helps us understand how early humans learned to create tools to live, explore, and adapt to their world.
