The Grand Celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the African Development Bank

On Wednesday, in Nairobi, Kenya, the African Development Bank celebrated its 60th anniversary! Since then, it has helped many African countries by building roads, schools, hospitals, and much more!

The celebration began with tribal drums and Kenyan dances. It looked like a big magic show, but it was just to celebrate the African Development Bank. The presidents of Kenya and the Bank, William Ruto and Akinwumi Adesina, were so excited that they even danced with the performers!

During the celebration, people talked about the Bank’s history. It was born 60 years ago in Khartoum, Sudan, as a gift to Africa. The African Development Bank is like a big team of people working together to help African countries become stronger and happier.

Since then, it has helped many African countries by building roads, schools, hospitals, and much more!

The President of the Bank, Akinwumi Adesina, talked about the fantastic projects the Bank has undertaken. Like helping countries fight Covid-19, building factories to make medicines in Africa, or improving roads and schools.

Akinwumi Adesina also said that the Bank is there to help Africa become stronger and more beautiful. He asked African presidents to work together so that all African children can grow up safely, go to school, and have a bright future.

Finally, the Bank’s Vice President, Bajabulile Swazi Tshabalala, spoke about the Bank’s future. She said they hope to help even more African countries become strong and prosperous in the years to come.

The celebration ended with lots of applause and smiles. Everyone was happy to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the African Development Bank. Because thanks to it, Africa has a bright future ahead!
