Uganda : Kampala renames its streets!

The city of Kampala is renaming its streets and historical sites!

Uganda’s High Court has ruled that these places should no longer carry the names of former British rulers but instead reflect Ugandan culture and history.

Since gaining independence in 1962, many colonial names have remained. Now, the city will choose names that celebrate Ugandan heroes and national unity. This is a big step in honoring the country’s identity and history!
