51 million children in Eastern and Southern Africa face severe crises. UNICEF has launched an urgent appeal to raise $1.2 billion to support them.
In Eastern and Southern Africa, 51 million children are at risk due to climate change, conflicts, and diseases. This number has risen by 6 million in just one year. UNICEF, which is working to assist these children, is appealing for $1.2 billion to continue its efforts.
The funds will be used to provide food, healthcare, education, and protection for the most vulnerable children. « Despite our efforts, many of our programs remain underfunded, » explained Etleva Kadilli, UNICEF’s Regional Director.
The challenges are immense: 47 million children are out of school, and 1 in 3 lacks adequate nutrition. Yet, UNICEF remains hopeful and calls for global solidarity to give these resilient children a brighter future.
