Today, Rwanda pays tribute to individuals who embodied and defended the highest values of patriotism and sacrifice for Rwanda and its citizens.
National Heroes Day is celebrated every year on February 1st in Rwanda. This day is dedicated to commemorating the lives and patriotic efforts of those who fought for the country and contributed to restoring peace. The celebration takes place in both the public and private sectors of the country during a ceremony in Kigali. The ceremony includes the laying of wreaths, as well as football activities and concerts.
It is also an opportunity to honor the memory of Rwandan or foreign citizens who distinguish themselves through heroism and other acts of bravery, serving as good examples.
