@ILO

Hey there, future digital experts! Did you know that Africa’s digital future is super exciting? By 2030, there will be millions of cool digital jobs waiting for talented people like you. But how can we make sure everyone gets a chance to learn and work in this awesome digital world?

The International Labour Organization (ILO), along with the International Training Centre (ITCILO) and with the help of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg, organized a special online workshop. Over 50 clever thinkers joined in to talk about Africa’s digital future.

The workshop was part of the eLearning Africa Conference in Kigali, Rwanda. It was like looking into a crystal ball to see what the future might hold! Yves Iradukunda, from Rwanda’s Ministry of ICT and Innovation, told everyone about Rwanda’s big dream to become a digital hub. They want to teach and hire lots of young people like you!

Alice Vozza and Fatima Elsanousi Sirelkhatim from the ILO shared some cool projects they’re working on. They’re helping young people in South Africa and Rwanda learn digital skills and find great digital jobs.

Together, the workshop heroes imagined what Africa might look like in 2050. They came up with four amazing ideas to make the most of digital technology.

After the workshop, everyone left with awesome plans to make sure everyone gets to be part of Africa’s digital journey. One friend said, « It was really exciting to see how we can balance new ideas with learning digital skills. »

So, let’s zoom into the future with our digital superpowers and make Africa’s digital dreams come true!

Forward to a Digital and Skilled Future!
