Bedis decided to embark on an extraordinary journey by bike from Paris to Mecca, a trip of over 4,000 kilometers! But that’s not all—he also adopted an adorable kitten along the way.
On March 6, Bedis set off from Paris with his brother for this grand adventure. They traveled through France, Switzerland, Italy, and many other countries, such as Turkey and Jordan, before arriving in Saudi Arabia.
During their journey, on May 14, while in Umulj, a town near the Red Sea, they discovered a tiny abandoned cat. Bedis and his brother immediately fell in love with the little kitty. They decided to adopt her and name her Mecca, in honor of their destination.
Mecca became the perfect travel companion! She was often seen perched on Bedis’s shoulders or snuggled up in his keffiyeh, transformed into a backpack. Videos of their adventures together became very popular on TikTok, with millions of views.
After taking care of Mecca with vaccinations and a pet passport, Bedis, his brother, and their new friend finally reached Mecca after 70 days of travel. The return to France went smoothly, and Mecca was warmly welcomed by Bedis’s family.
