Omar Nok, a 30-year-old Egyptian adventurer, has achieved an amazing feat: traveling for nine months from Egypt to Japan… without taking a plane even once!
To accomplish this, he used various means of transport, including walking, cycling, horseback riding, motorcycling, and even sailing. Along the way, he camped on the Great Wall of China, crossed the mountains of Kyrgyzstan on horseback, and shared tea with locals in Afghanistan, as reported by an article from National Public Radio (NPR).
« Traveling without a plane allows you to meet more people, » explains Omar. This method enabled him to discover unexpected places and connect with extraordinary individuals. Throughout his journey, he also shared his daily adventures on Instagram, where he has over 750,000 followers!
His travels allowed him to witness that kindness exists everywhere. In Iran, for instance, a local invited him into their home to offer a meal and a bed. Omar firmly believes: « No matter the country, we have more in common than we have differences. »
Today, Omar is back in Cairo, ready to plan his next big adventure. A beautiful lesson in courage and curiosity for all aspiring explorers!
