Susannah Farr : a heroine of education in Africa

Susannah Farr, a passionate South African, is transforming education with innovative ideas. She inspires young people to become change-makers in their communities through a unique educational model.

Susannah Farr is the CEO of the Gold Youth Development Agency (GYDA), an organization changing lives across Africa. Her vision? Turning young people into leaders who help their peers succeed. She believes that every young person is a potential nation-builder!

Her model, based on peer education, follows a simple principle: young people can positively influence their friends. With her team, Susannah has reached over 55,000 young people in 123 communities across four African countries. She not only helps students improve their learning but also seeks solutions to create jobs in areas where employment opportunities are scarce.

Thanks to her impactful work, Susannah won the top innovator award at the 2019 Innovation in Education Expo, organized by the African Union. This event highlights brilliant women and girls who use technology to tackle educational challenges.

With Susannah Farr and GYDA, education becomes a shared journey where every young person can be a hero in their community.
