African children’s book publishers gather in Lomé !

Children’s book publishers from across Africa came together in Lomé to join forces and make books more accessible to children across the continent!

From March 6 to 8, 52 publishers from 16 African countries met in Lomé, Togo, for the first African Children’s Book Publishers Forum (FEJA). The goal? To build a strong network among publishing houses to better share books across Africa!

Children’s publishing in Africa is growing fast, but it remains fragile. Publishers aim to make books more accessible, reduce costs, and show that reading is not just entertainment—it is also a powerful learning tool!
