Archaeologists have discovered a very old city in Egypt, 3,400 years old! It was found near Alexandria and might teach us a lot about the time of the pharaohs.

Imagine a city lost for a long time. That’s what researchers found in Egypt! While digging at a site called Kom el-Nugus, they uncovered a city that’s 3,400 years old. This city was built during the reign of the famous pharaoh Akhenaten, the father of King Tut.

The city is located in northern Egypt, near the Mediterranean Sea. What’s even more amazing is that they found houses, temples, and funeral chapels. Researchers also found an inscription with the name of Akhenaten’s daughter, Merytaton, proving the city is really ancient.

This discovery helps us learn more about life in ancient Egypt during the time of the pharaohs!
