African forest elephants are more numerous than we thought !

A new study shows there are more hidden elephants in African forests — great news for nature and biodiversity.
Scientists used DNA identification to count forest elephants in Africa. Surprise: they discovered thousands of previously “invisible” elephants, bringing the total population to about 135,690! This is excellent news for the forest because these animals play an important role — they help spread seeds, keep forests healthy, and balance ecosystems.
Thanks to this discovery, nature defenders have more reasons to hope. Protecting these elephants becomes even more important: preserving their habitat, stopping poaching, and raising awareness in communities. For kids, it means we can dream of a future where forests and animals live together — and share the idea: respect animals, protect nature, and help take care of the planet.
