Kenya : Craig, the elephant with giant tusks, has left us

In Kenya, great sadness has struck Amboseli National Park. Craig, a very special elephant known around the world for his enormous tusks, has died at the age of 54.

Craig was one of the rare elephants known as “super tuskers.” His tusks were so long and heavy that they almost touched the ground. Despite his impressive size, Craig was a calm and gentle elephant, much loved by rangers, scientists, and visitors alike.

Elephants like Craig are becoming increasingly rare, as their large tusks attract poachers. Fortunately, Craig leaves behind children and grandchildren who will continue to live in the park. Thanks to him, many people have learned to love and protect African elephants.

Craig will be remembered as a gentle giant, a symbol of the beauty and fragility of nature.
