Lit on September 10, 2026 at the Panathenaic Stadium in Athens, the Dakar 2026 flame arrived in Dakar on September 12. It will now travel through all 14 regions of Senegal as part of a 30-stage relay under the theme “Pass the Energy.”
The Youth Olympic Games will take place from October 31 to November 13, 2026, in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly. Around 2,700 young athletes under the age of 18 are expected to take part in this major sporting celebration.
Dakar 2026 will be a historic event: it will be the first Olympic event ever held on African soil.
