Africa Skills Week: What Will Tomorrow’s Jobs Look Like?
From 12 to 16 October 2026, people from different African countries will meet in Harare, Zimbabwe, for Africa Skills Week. They will talk about the jobs of the future and how to help young people learn new skills to find a job when they grow up.
Do you dream of becoming a doctor, an engineer, a journalist or a video game designer? At Africa Skills Week, leaders, businesses, training institutions and young people are coming together to discuss the skills Africa will need in the years ahead.
Why does this matter? Because the world of work is changing. Artificial intelligence and digital tools are already transforming many jobs. Other skills are becoming essential too, such as creativity, problem-solving and teamwork.
The event also aims to build stronger links between schools, training centres and businesses. The goal is to help young people prepare for employment and contribute to their countries’ development.
But nobody can predict exactly what all future jobs will look like!
What would you love to be when you grow up?
