Burkina Faso : a collective breaking of the fast to promote unity

Young people in Burkina Faso had a brilliant idea: to organize a collective breaking of the fast involving all religious faiths in the country. Their goal? To promote unity and show that regardless of our beliefs, we are all Burkinabé first and foremost.

On Friday, March 22, 2024, in Ouagadougou, the capital of Burkina Faso, young people had an incredible idea: to host a big celebration where everyone, regardless of their religion, could share a meal together. This event is called a collective breaking of the fast.

« Our objective is to demonstrate that we can live together in peace, even if we have different religions. We want to show that we are all brothers and sisters, and that we must support each other, » explains Moumini Koudougou, the president of the organizing committee.

The idea was to bring together Muslims, Christians, and members of other religions to share a moment of camaraderie. Everyone was invited to participate, and even local authorities supported this beautiful initiative.

« A moment of sharing, joy, and friendship that showed that despite our differences, we can all be united as Burkinabé. »

To ensure the success of the celebration, generous donors provided food and gifts so that everyone could fully enjoy this special moment. « Many people decided to help us by bringing food and gifts. This shows that when we work together, we can accomplish great things, » adds Moumini Koudougou.

People of all religions present at the collective breaking of the fast praised this wonderful initiative. It was a moment of sharing, joy, and friendship that showed that despite our differences, we can all be united as Burkinabé.

This special event reminds everyone of the importance of unity and solidarity. Regardless of our beliefs, we can all work together for a better future!
