Burkina Faso : schools reopen !

According to UNICEF Burkina, recent data shows a decrease in school closures across the country, offering hope for children’s education in Burkina Faso.

The latest education figures in Burkina Faso are promising! According to UNICEF Burkina, the number of closed schools has decreased nationwide. By the end of March 2024, the cumulative number of closed establishments dropped to 5,319, compared to 5,336 at the end of February 2024. Additionally, the number of students affected by these closures has also decreased, dropping from 823,340 to 818,149 over the same period. But that’s not all! Over 1,300 schools have been reopened, and nearly 440,945 internally displaced students (IDPs) have been accounted for. These developments are encouraging for children in Burkina Faso as they offer the possibility of better access to education for all.
