Lantoniaina Malala Rakotoarivelo created Art Lanto Design in 2017 in Madagascar to make beautiful baskets using a plant called sea rush. This plant grows in marshes and helps protect nature while providing jobs for people in need.
Art Lanto Design trains people to make elegant and eco-friendly products sold in hotels and decoration stores. Lantoniaina also works for the environment, combining her job and her business to help both nature and people.
The company now aims to be known worldwide, with products carrying the Toliara Handicraft brand, and plans to cultivate sea rush themselves to continue growing.
