Kenya has launched a groundbreaking universal health project called « Taifa Care. » Its goal? To provide medical care for everyone, without exception, and combat poverty caused by healthcare costs.
President William Ruto envisions a future where everyone in Kenya can access healthcare, regardless of income. That’s why « Taifa Care » was introduced—a program that ensures fair access to medical services for all Kenyans.
Currently, only one in four people in Kenya has health insurance. With the help of a new Social Health Authority (SHA), the government aims to change this and cover 80% of the population by 2030. New laws have also been passed to strengthen healthcare services, improve hospitals, and make care accessible to everyone.
« Taifa Care » is a powerful promise, ensuring no one has to choose between their health and their savings.
