Imagine a huge detective investigation where every clue matters! To fight Ebola, health teams need to collect lots of information: What is happening in affected areas? Are the numbers changing? Are there any new risks?
Artificial intelligence (AI) can help them make sense of it all. In the DRC, an AI assistant called Claude can analyse data and prepare reports much faster. According to its creator, Anthropic, a task that used to take a whole day can now be completed in less than an hour!
The World Health Organization (WHO) has also announced the deployment in the DRC of a platform called PDX, which uses AI to bring together information about health and potential risks.
But remember: AI is not a doctor and cannot treat anyone. It is a tool that helps health teams better understand the situation and respond more quickly. During an outbreak, spotting the clues sooner can make a real difference!
