Rwanda is considering a new rule: children under 16 could no longer use platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
The goal is to better protect young people online. Authorities believe that social media can sometimes expose children to inappropriate content or online risks.
This plan is not yet a law. It still needs to be discussed and approved. It also raises questions about how to help children use the internet safely, with support from parents and schools.
