Maasai girls fight for their future

space to learn how to defend themselves and change their future. In a small village in Kenya, this shelter allows Maasai girls to flee violent practices such as female genital mutilation and forced marriages.

Since its founding in 2009, the center has provided them with free education and self-defense classes to help them gain confidence and protect themselves.

« 80% of assaults can be stopped with words, » explains the center. These initiatives offer hope to these girls, giving them a chance to break the cycle of violence and live freely.
